Yashish Manohar wins the first ever Next Gen Racer scholarship and joins the ERA Championship Europe Series 2023 driver line-up.

Software AG ERA Championship is proud to announce the winner of the first Next Gen Racer competition, an exciting annual opportunity for talented racing drivers to showcase their abilities and secure a funded seat, worth approximately 150.000€, on the grid of the world’s first 100% electric entry-level formula racing series. A unique initiative in motorsport to promote accessibility in the sport and favour talent over financial resources.

Seven shortlisted drivers joined ERA Championship at Circuit Zolder at the end of November for the first ever edition of the Next Gen Racer competition. Following the same principles as the recent Racing Pride scholarship, all drivers were assessed both on and off track. All participants had to show speed and track performance, and demonstrate their ability to work with ERA mechanics and engineers to improve their performance throughout the day. The drivers were also given the opportunity to explain their motivations to join an innovative and sustainable championship, and learn about important off-track skills, including giving media interviews and utilising their social media platforms- all vital skills to help set them up for a racing career.

Thanks to an impressive performance among a pool of extremely talented drivers, 17-year-old Yashish Manohar from the United Arab Emirates was chosen as the overall winner of the first Next Gen Racer competition and will join the grid for ERA Series Europe 2023.
